10 Truly Fashionable facts about me, myself, and I

I understand if you don’t want to forgive me, I probably am one of the worst bloggers on the planet. To be honest I probably should, and could have scheduled some posts but I thought I would have wifi at home by now. If you’re confused or think something was lost in translation fear not. During this post-less week I packed up my house in Paris, settled into a new home in Brussels and started unpacking boxes as fast as possible. Yes, it’s as exhausting as it sounds, and it’s still not over. There’s still more daunting work ahead, but to make up for the lack of posts I thought I would share some truly fashionable facts about myself so all of you can get to know me a little bit better.

1. I’m a hataholic

If you’re a loyal reader of my blog you’ve probably noticed this by now, but I am indeed obsessed with hats. It’s not a phase, it’s not a trend, it’s an obsession. My hat collection is growing quite quickly which I must admit, I don’t really mind at all.

 2. I love maroon/burgundy/oxblood

My mom hates it, I love it, but most of all, I love wearing it. The past few seasons it’s made quite a comeback and I don’t think it’s going away anytime soon. Every wardrobe item you can think of, I own it in burgundy.

4. My dream bag is the Chanel 2.55

I’ve been in love with this bag for years and have promised myself that one day I will have it. It’s a beautiful, high quality bag that is so versatile I could picture myself wearing it with everything!

5. My favorite print is plaid/tartan

One of the reasons behind the name of my blog is this print which I consider my favorite. I don’t wear it as often as I’d like but I hope to change that soon so Living in Plaid can be full of plaid.

6. My favorite fashion season is Fall

Though I prefer the summer climate, I think that autumnal fashion is more creative and leaves more room for interpretation. Summer can be shorts and t-shirts while fall is sweaters, scarves, and booties. Autumn is when people begin to layer, and also the time where some of the most magnificent hues are visible.

7. My most worn brand is Zara

Zara is a brand that has something for everyone, and that’s what I think makes it successful. Whether you’re bohemian, athletic, minimalistic, edgy, or ultra-sophisticated, Zara has something for you. It also has great price points, which is another reason for its success, especially amongst people in my age demographic. Every time I go into Zara I find something I love whether it’s a dress, a pair of jeans, boots, or a cozy winter scarf.

8. My favorite jewelry items are rings

Contrary to bracelets or necklaces, I always remember to wear rings. I think they add something to an outfit without taking away from it. Sometimes I feel bad covering a beautiful dress with a necklace just because it’s simple, but rings don’t upstage that center piece. One of my favorite shops for buying rings is & Other Stories because they have beautiful rings, at great prices, and they have a variety of sizes which is great for me since I have pretty small fingers.

9. I’m obsessed with wearing rose gold!

I absolutely love rose gold. Necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, if it’s in rose gold I will buy it. I’ve always liked gold more than silver, but my love for rose gold surpasses them all. Of course a good silver or gold piece every once in a while is necessary just to mix it up a little.

10. I probably wear too much black

What can I say? Black is my comfort color, my safety net shade when in doubt about what to wear. I wear it by itself, or sometimes in combination with other colors, but either way I’m almost always wearing it.

That’s all for today! I’ll have wifi on Tuesday which means there will be a post either on Wednesday or Thursday and of course a Sunday post. If you have any requests for a post leave a comment and I’ll be sure to follow your suggestions.

XOXO, Sofía
