I’ve lived in Paris for almost four years now, and shockingly I’d never visited the Musée d’Orsay. For those of you who’ve never heard about the Musée d’Orsay, it is a former train station which was turned into an art museum in 1986. Being an art lover, I thoroughly enjoyed the collection of Monet, Van Gogh, and Cézanne the museum housed. For anyone visiting Paris, I would highly recommend paying a visit to the museum, especially if you are an art or architecture lover. I found the outside of the building to be equally beautiful as the paintings and sculptures inside, but my favorite thing in the museum was no doubt the iconic clock which once dictated the fate of railroad travelers. Though It was built in the 1800’s, today it remains as beautiful as ever, providing a contrast between antique and modern, past and present.
During my visit to the Musée d’Orsay, I wore a military inspired look which was characterized by the army green jeans featured in these images. I layered up with a black turtleneck from Uniqlo, and a thick cable knit sweater from Brandy Melville. These pieces added a more relaxed, oversized element to the look which juxtaposed with the skinny fit of the pants. I added some print to the outfit by incorporating these leopard print booties. They brought some more color to the look and they added some texture through the leather and pony hair materials. Since it was fairly cold the day these photos were shot, I layered on this army jacket from Zara. I love the mixed fabric look of this jacket, as it contributes to the relaxed, and military style of the look. All of the pieces I was wearing are ones that I love, but the effect of all of these together was something that I surprisingly enjoyed. But I isn’t that what fashion is all about; taking what you have and wearing it in different ways.
