Buenos Aires in Style #9 Discovering my City

In each of us is a sense of discovery, adventure, a desire to travel and live different experiences. For Christmas, I was able to flee the cold here in Paris and go to Argentina. There, I spent some joyful moments with my family during Christmas and New Year’s Eve. On one occasion, I was able to discover a part of Buenos Aires that I’ve never been to before called Caminito. The streets are paved with cobblestones, traditional tango melodies can be heard from meters away, and the renowned colored houses so long ago uninhabited, are admired by people from all over the world. Scattered around are vendors selling regional items; leather goods, paintings, and Argentina’s national gemstone Rhodochrosite fill their small shops and stands. The cool breeze, blazing sun, and the beauty of the streets all amounted to create a phenomenal day.

Freedom is a feeling that can be expressed in many ways. This particular day, I decided to display that feeling through my clothes. Maxi skirts have quickly become some of my summer wardrobe staples. They’re effortless and give off a very bohemian vibe. I was wearing a black maxi skirt which I paired with a basic white tank, and added a pop of colour through my bag. This mint bag was a gift from my Aunt Sol, and it is extremely on trend for this Spring/Summer. Fringe is making a comeback, and was seen on the runways at Céline and Proenza Schouler. This mint hue is amongst my top three favorite colors, and has been consistently popular the past few years for spring.

I’m back in Paris so now it’s boots, coats and scarves for me again!

XOXO, Sofia
