Ever since I moved to Europe, the weekend getaways were something to be expected. Every Friday afternoon, or early Saturday morning, we would slip into the car, and I would curl up with a book. However, as my brother and I have grown older, these getaways have become less and less frequent, being replaced by sleep-filled weekends, or hours completing homework. But ever since moving to Belgium, I’ve yearned for those moments once more. So when we had a getaway weekend once more, we decided to visit the quaint seaside town of Knokke-Heist. It was the perfect day to spend with my family, away from technology, and immersed in the beauty of somewhere new. That’s another one of the things that I love about these trips, spending time with the people whom I love most.
Since we were going to the beach (only walking, it’s freezing there!), and it was still a casual occasion, I decided to wear something more laid-back. I wore my new favorite sweatshirt, which of course reminds me of my previous home, and instead of making it look super casual, I dressed it up with a few cute pieces. This burgundy coat, made of a beautiful hairlike material, was perfect for adding just a touch of city chic. I accessorized with a bag in the same shade, which was perfect for putting all of my essentials in, and for mixing up the textures of the outfit.
BAG – A&F
SWEATSHIRT – PULL & BEAR
COAT – EL CORTE INGLÉS
Just two days left until I’m officially on vacay! On Tuesday I’ll be flying to an extremely exciting place, and adding another column to the travel section. I’m still undecided about whether I want to do a daily travel diary, or a trip summary/guide but I guess we’ll see! Anyway, I’m sure you’ll love the beautiful backdrop of the place I’ll be visiting. Until then…
