It’s easy to live in darkness, but discovering the light in our day to day lives is a challenge. If we never stop and reflect upon all we have, how can we ever be grateful for all the blessings in our lives? How can we step out of the darkness if we never stop an instant to admire the light? We never stop. Never stop dreaming, thinking, creating, working, breathing, living. Those moments where we do stop, are the ones where a shimmer shines through. That glow has the power to change you, but it’s only a spark. A spark can create a flame, a sign of hope, but only when it is built upon. And that spark, just like it was created, can disappear in an instant.
“Don’t dwell on the dark side of things, but look for the light and build around it.”- Diane Von Furstenberg
What better way to find the light, than to see in color? I decided that a ‘no black outfit’ would be the perfect choice for a bright look, coincidentally also starting the week on a cheery note! Yes, it is possible to create an outfit with no black at all! In my case, I selected my favorite white pieces and added bursts of color through some well-loved clothing items. One of those items is definitely this pair of jeans from Zara which I essentially live in! What attracted me to them was the fact that they were more interesting than your average pair of skinny jeans but still perfect for everyday. With those jeans, I also wore one of my absolute favorite colorful pieces! This embroidered blazer is one of the most loved pieces in my wardrobe at the moment. What do I love about it? It has that perfect dressy feeling without being pretentious. It’s simple, but definitely catches one’s attention. I’m dying for summer to come so that I can wear it every day! And no, I’m not kidding.

I’m baaaaaack! Please, please, please forgive the long absence. If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ll know I was in South Africa for the past week. What? I know, it’s crazy! You’ll soon be able to see what I got up to while I was there, but before those posts go up I have a series to share with you! The concept came to me a while ago while looking back at some notes I had taken from the book The Woman I Wanted to Be by Diane von Furstenberg. It’s a book that inspired me immensely, and that I hope will inspire you too through these posts. I’m ecstatic to share my thoughts and outfits created around my favorite quotes, and I can’t wait to see what you think about them. Have a bright week!
