Mil y una noches | Granada

Over a thousand years ago, two cultures clashed and their worlds merged into one. One of these, the Muslims, created a place of beauty and cultural wonder atop a hill. A place impossible to conquer, no matter the efforts. The Catholics found a way to put an end to their rivals glory and expand their vast empire. My own eyes saw this oasis of magic and beauty, a place called La Alhambra, the red castle.

Where does inspiration come from? To me, it can come from anywhere. From a painting, to a song, to a place as full of beauty as is La Alhambra. I love channeling the bohemian princess that lives in my closet. Wearing peasant blouses and maxi skirts, cowboy boots and vests, which is exactly what I did today. This look came to my mind as soon as I knew we were going to La Alhambra. I don’t know how to describe it, but it’s almost as if this outfit created itself. From a vision in my mind, to the photos you see here. All of the pieces were already in my wardrobe, and somehow they paired perfectly to create the image I had in my mind. Each piece juxtaposed another, almost seamlessly. A mishmash of colors, trims, and fabrics created what I would describe as a bohemian chic ensemble. Something about its laid back, yet feminine vibe really matched the style of the place. The mixture of textures and silhouettes together formed something cohesive, yet unique.
