If you came here for the plaid, you won’t be disappointed. I know that for a blog called ‘Living in Plaid’, you might be expecting a lot more plaid, but I like keeping my outfits interesting, for you, and for me. But when autumn rolls around, I know it’s time to bring the print into action. A few days ago, I acquired a new plaid piece, which I thought would make a great addition to my fall/winter wardrobe, and I was right! I bought it and then a few days later, I saw this awesome video on PopSugar’s youtube channel about 30 different ways to wear a scarf! Scarfs, especially printed scarfs have really been making a comeback lately, especially after the ‘beanie craze’ that took place over the last few seasons. So if you’re thinking about getting one great accessory to get through the winter, get a scarf!
“Don’t wear white after Labor Day,” they said. But since when should anyone listen to fashion rules and clichés? Personally, I think winter whites are extremely sophisticated and exceptionally unexpected. And today, I broke that rule twice! White jeans, and a pop of white in my plaid scarf-turned-cape. Capes have been very on trend this season, but I know that on some people’s silhouettes (like mine), they can be a bit overwhelming. So that’s why I decided to drape this scarf over my shoulders, and belt it at the waist. On this unusually warm fall day, I managed to only wear the scarf over a relaxed black blouse, which I paired with some snow-white jeans and black riding boots.
BLOUSE – BA&SH
SCARF – PULL & BEAR
JEANS – HOLLISTER
