There’s something incredibly surreal about walking through undiscovered streets, bathed in sunlight. Walking through the cobbled sidewalks of Porto, absorbing the rays of the sun, and admiring the beauty of a foreign place was an escape from everything that was occurring in my life at that point.  My mind was not filled with thoughts of tests, assignments, and other woes, but rather of books, art, and the picturesque scene that lay before me. Those are the moments that I can never get enough of, the times when all my worries vanish, and I can delve into a new book, or discover new places. If only life could be like that. Everything would be so much simpler, and people more content. For, in fact, those temporary moments are the ones that bring true happiness, and not a fictitious rendition of joy.

To walk around and enjoy the cultural sights of Porto while looking put-together, I chose an outfit that was casual but also incorporated some dressy pieces. My favorite pieces from this look were my beloved red hat, and the fringe bag I was wearing. After all, it’s all in the little things. I felt like these pieces really helped pull the outfit together and give it the dressy bohemian vibe it gave off. Overall, this look was very ‘me’, and provided some contrast with  the bright, colorful streets.

I can’t believe it! I’m finally free from school, stress, and everything associated with that place. By now, I am beyond ready to relax and enjoy the free moments that this summer will bring. I’ve been yearning for some time to myself where I can just reflect, read, create, and feel liberated. So, I’ve been dying to soak in some sunshine, splash around the sea, and discover new places. I can’t wait to share with you my summer destination. I know you will love it!

XOXO, Sofia

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog this year. Yes, you talk about fashion. Yes, you talk about travel. More importantly, however, you talk about savoring the special, quiet moments, where people can really be themselves, and where they have the time to discover who they really are.

    Have a wonderful summer.

    Your reader,
    Ms. LaRosa

PS I will keep reading! 🙂
