It’s not the journey. It’s the destination.
I’ve long believed that the best views came after the most post perilous climbs, that the most bittersweet instants were those that followed moments of anguish, and that all of the memories that were worth living and re-living were those that came with a price. All of this I say from experience, but there is one in particular that convinced me of these facts: my trip to Capetown. After more than thirty hours of travel, I finally arrived in Capetown, a city that would captivate me for the ten days I was there, and for weeks afterwards. In fact, I’m still in awe of all the beauty I saw during those days. Everything I observed, experienced, and photographed will never leave my mind because it’s simply unforgettable. South Africa isn’t just another country that I’m adding to the travel section of my blog. It’s a deeply engraved memory that I’ll keep with me until the recollection of events that I’ve lived blurs into a hazy cloud.
To start off the trip, I wore something feminine with an edgy touch, which was perfect for the night. Even though I usually don’t go for an all black look, I thought it would be interesting to play around with this somber shade in contrasting it with this happy, colorful blazer. Is it a blazer? I’m actually not sure. It looks like a blazer, but it’s breezy and is tailored like a light jacket. I’ve been experimenting with this jacket/blazer in the past few weeks and I know it will definitely be a summer staple for chillier days, or nightly strolls around the coast (can you guess where?). Another piece which is always a staple for me are these heeled sandals with a golden strap. I’ve worn them a million times, at least! Every time I wear them I get loads of compliments, so they’re definitely a crowd favorite too!
