Red. A color that evokes centuries of power, and royalty; war and its consequences. It’s the color that everyone dreams of wearing, but so few dare to flaunt. But why not red? Even just in small doses. To me, it’s a color that exudes strength and confidence, so why not wear red?
This look was inspired by a combination of things. The fleeting 70’s trend, silhouettes from the 90’s, and this hat! I styled it in another post in a very different way, so this time I decided to make this hat blend in, rather than the focus of an outfit. Shades of blue and red dominated the unusual color palette of this winter ensemble. I’ve always loved the effect of pairing blue and red together, and this is just one of the ways in which I’ve styled these colors. I played around with the silhouettes in this look, going for both relaxed and tight forms, balanced out with other pieces.

I’ve been so bad with posting lately! I’m so sorry! Everything will be going back to normal soon. With the new year came lots of changes and hectic days, so I’m looking forward to a few relaxing weeks, and soon enough February break will be knocking on my door and I’ll hopefully be jetting off somewhere beautiful. Don’t forget to leave me your suggestions for what you’d like/wouldn’t like to see on Living in Plaid this year. Bloggers, don’t forget that follow Friday is ON! I’ll be sending a tweet each week to remind you, but don’t forget to send me your links! Until then…
