Beauty is more than impeccably contoured cheekbones. More than a slim nose, or perfectly shaped lips. It’s not just an elegant waist or flawlessly proportioned legs. Beauty is not just a body and a face. Beauty is not a superficial virtue that only a fraction of the population can possess. It’s courage, strength, determination, intelligence, and so much more. If only we could stop defining beauty as something purely physical, and look inwards, we would see that true beauty lies within.
“Character. Intelligence. Strength. Style. That makes beauty.” – Diane von Furstenberg
What better way to show your strength and beauty than to wear an outfit that makes you feel exactly that way? That can mean something different for everyone, but to me, that means a skirt that highlights my waist, or a leather jacket that makes me feel like I can take over the world. Everyone has those pieces that make them feel beautiful, but it’s up to them to make something out of that beauty. On a day where I wasn’t feeling particularly beautiful, or strong I wore something that made me gain what I had temporarily lost: my confidence and my strength. A unique skirt, a fitted top, a tough pair of boots, and my beloved leather jacket were all it took to make me feel like myself once more. Those simple pieces paired together created something sophisticated, but tough, feminine yet edgy. They created what could be called, a beautiful woman.

I really hope all of you enjoyed this second installment in my DVF inspired series (1st one here), as I’ve really loved writing them! I’ll have one or two more posts centered around my favorite DVF quotes up soon, and in the meantime, I’ll be enjoying the crazy rollercoaster I call my life. Until next time!
